Avivit is a researcher and writer and an expert on Arab society, minority-majority relations, and shared society in Israel.

Between 2008-2020 Avivit was the Israeli Representative for the Inter Agency Task Force on Israeli Arab Issues, a coalition of about 100 Jewish-American organizations that work together to enhance awareness and education of Arab society within the Jewish-American community. In this capacity she was the “eyes and ears” of the coalition on the ground, researching and writing about a wide variety of issues – from civil society work, via discourse and legislation to government development plans, integration of Arab society into higher education and employment and so forth.

In early 2020, together with Aiman Saif and Dr. Nasreen Hadad Hajyahya, Avivit founded NAS Consulting Ltd. NAS (“people” in Arabic) is a research and consulting company that specializes in Arab society and marginalized communities in Israel and provides research services and strategic and organizational consulting to governmental bodies, philanthropies, local authorities and the private sector.

Holds an interdisciplinary MA from Tel Aviv University’s Law and Society Program. She speaks Hebrew, English and Italian.
